Greetings! from Little Paws Toronto Family

Hello, welcome to our very first blog post!

As Little Paws Toronto has been growing rapidly in these few years, we wanted to greet you all here and share some of our stories through blog posts.

As this is our very first blog, we want to introduce ourselves as well. We are Toronto based dog service company. We walk dogs, make dog treats, and provide dog boarding services. We focus on local - our mission is to serve dogs and dog owners in Toronto for their wellness. And we are just like you, simply want to see more happy dogs in Toronto!

One of the biggest successes in these few years is our handmade dog treats. When we came up with the idea of sourcing local meat and dehydrating them with nutritious vegetables and fruits, we were thrilled that this could help dogs with picky tastes and/ or elderly dogs since they are easy to chew and most importantly they are simply so yummy! (Yes, LPT’s human staffs love them too since they’re all human-grade)

Here we have a story to share with you. Meet Toffee, a 12-year-old toy poodle.

He developed myxomatous mitral valve degeneration as he got older and has been struggling with anxiety issues as well as eating in general. He constantly coughs and breathes uneasily. He doesn’t enjoy eating at all, and it has always been the biggest concern for the owner. In fall 2021, his owner had to leave Toronto for about a month and they inquired us about the dog boarding.

With all the information provided by the owner, we approached him a little differently from how we do with other dogs. Because of his high anxiety level, we tried to give him some private space and a decent amount of distance from other dogs. We admit that it was pretty hard to make him eat the food that the owner gave us. With the owner’s permission, we tried to feed him our treats. We didn’t expect that he would like them, but we wanted to see if our easy chew & nutritious treats might help him have some appetite. We put some of the chicken + cucumber treats out and left them close to him… In the next moment, he came close to them and slowly started eating!

We thought Toffee would be the last dog that would like our treats - he is an old, picky dog with some underlining health issues that had been taking his appetite away. After that moment, he craves our treats every single day. What a surprise!

Day by day, we are more confident that we are helping the community with genuinely clean and nutritious treats. Like what happened to Toffee, we have gotten a lot of positive feedback from dog owners who have been struggling with feeding their dogs. Those feedbacks are our greatest pleasure and we’ll keep working on the cause.

To close off, we would like to thank you all for your continuing support. We are always motivated and excited to be a part of local dogs’ lives for their wellness and that all matters to us.
