Why Eat Local?

Ingredients Matter.

Our ingredients are all locally sourced and made simple.

Today I want to talk about “Why Eat Local?”. Ever since we started serving our customers, our primal mission is to focus on serving the local community. To be specific to dogs and dog owners in Ontario, Canada.

Foremost, we, LPT family believe eating local for animals is as important as for humans. We care what “good food” and “good treats” mean to dogs.

We source meat from Tanjo Family Farm located in Millbank, Ontario, and fruits and vegetables grew in Ontario as well. Tanjo Family Farm has a small booth in a farmers’ market in Toronto and when we first visited there the booth was full of local people. We have great relationship with them ever since and knowing exactly who owns the farm and grows livestock gives us the confidence to serve our community. We do not mix any other meats or ingredients besides one vegetable or fruit to their meat, so the great quality of our treats in tastes comes fully from them!

Not only does purchasing food locally benefit the local economy, but it also helps the environment by eliminating long-distance shipping, giving up reliance on mass manufacturers that consume a huge amount of fuel.

As it is not difficult to imagine, Canada has a huge land that is sufficient to feed its population from an Agricultural standpoint. Instead of sourcing food outside of the country or from other provinces, we have excellent sources within the province of Ontario.  And all our treats are human grade as well. Never tasted dog treats before? Then you should try ours!

We are trying to increase the product line of our dog treats brand Natural Paws. We’ve been testing to see which meat, vegetables, and fruits could support your needs at most. I am proud to say we’re a small business based in Toronto that’s supporting the local community in every possible way. If you’re reading this from the other side of the world, I’m sure there are so many amazing people and resources that you can benefit from near you. I hope this little blog can bring you an awareness of supporting local and being beneficial to each other in those communities.

If you’re a dog owner in Ontario, let’s take on this journey together!
